02 / METHODS AND DATA

A consistent workflow for two raster products.

Each map uses the same county boundary, supporting geography, scale information, orientation, and Florida locator to make the products easy to compare and interpret.

Elevation model

Prepare and symbolize a digital elevation model to reveal Brevard County's subtle relief while retaining roads, waterways, boundaries, and recognizable place context.

Land-cover interpretation

Apply class-based symbology to Landsat-derived land-cover data so developed areas, forests, wetlands, agriculture, water, and other classes remain distinguishable.

Cartographic composition

Combine each analytical raster with a clear legend, scale bar, north arrow, source information, county outline, and statewide locator map.

03 / INTERPRETATION

Clear about what the maps demonstrate.

The elevation map communicates patterns contained in the source DEM; its apparent precision depends on the resolution and accuracy of that dataset.

The land-cover map demonstrates experience working with and interpreting a Landsat-derived classification product. It does not claim that the classes were independently produced from raw Landsat scenes.

04 / PROJECT CONTEXT

This project complements the portfolio's thermal, water-quality, UAS, and hazard-vulnerability work with foundational elevation and land-cover products.
